Why is my furnace leaking water?

There can be a number of reasons why a furnace may be leaking water. Common reasons include a clogged drain, or coil issues.

How do I know if I should repair or replace my unit?

Most major equipment has a 10 year parts warranty, once the equipment exceeds the 10 year mark, repairs can become costly, and part availability can be restricted. We recommend that if you have a unit that is 15 or more years old, and you have a repair cost that exceeds $1500.00, the best option would be to replace the unit.

What is the lifespan of my equipment?

When a unit has been maintained regularly, most heating and cooling equipment can last anywhere from 15-20 years.

What is the best temperature to set my thermostat for during different seasons?

This is a personal preference based on comfortability, however, you should never leave more than a 4 degree temperature difference if you set it differently while you are home or away.

What should I do if my system is iced up?

If you notice that there is ice build up on the outside pipe to your air conditioner, or inside of the furnace (the coil), the best plan of action is to turn the unit off via the thermostat to allow the unit to defrost. Our service team can then come out and perform a diagnostic test to find the problem and provide a solution.

If I need a replacement, does my diagnostic charge get credited?

Yes! If you have us out to perform diagnostics on your equipment, and the end result is the system needs to be replaced, our Home Comfort Specialist will be happy to provide you with a credit towards your replacement for the diagnostic fee charged during your initial visit with us.
